| We have a Russian thread, of course we need a French thread, too! What I know:Florent Amodio is confirmed for Turin; the other three men have a test skate on the 15th, schedule is here. I haven't been able to find any new info re Brian Joubert, his training or his coaching situation - I hope he's doing well... Nathalie Pechalat and Fabian Bourzat are back in Moscow, where they are presumably training for Worlds. There are lots of pictures from the Olympics on their Facebook fan page. Not sure who'll be joining them in Turin, based on results I expect Carron/Jones, which is a shame because Blanc/Bouquet are way more fun. There were rumors of a test skate for the pairs as well, but that appears to have been scrapped. And now I've started my fourth thread in this part of the forum - I vote for someone else to start the next one!

| I think it would be silly to send someone other then Brian, and I believe DG knows it. None of the others are medal contenders. Which leads me to think it's intended to either make DG look like he's doing something, or raise Brian's confidence. In that case, I think it's kind of mean to the others. |

That was pretty much my take on it, too. Neither Yannick nor Alban have any new updates on their websites, so I've no idea what they think of this. |

| But didn't Brian himself say that there should be a test-skate? I think he was saying something like that. And honestly - he is right! What if he skates like he did at the Olympics? Préaubert has a very good chance to place in the Top Ten. |

| What I dont get is why the others are subjected to test skate..I mean they were watching Olys from their couch, what did they do? Ponsero was nice In Europeans, I would send Ponsero and Joub, I love Amodio but he had the Olys and he has many years from now on. Preubert did very very well in Europeans but it is clear judges dont place him high whatever this poor guy does.
I dont know, what you think? |

It might be a bit unfair on the others as they probably did not have the motivation to train hard inbetween and have shown themselves on various occasions, its notl ike there'll be any suprises. Therefore i agree with ginger and zemgirl that the whole production might be just to justify sending Joub to worlds. Frankly, I'd rahter have Joub stay at home than go and fall apart again, cos the second time will surely be more damaging (he can always blame it on olympics curse and the "f***** olympics" in his subconcious).. So Im ambigious as to what should be done. |

| Not news, but certainly French: Florent Amodio has pictures on his website from his junior-and pre-junior days, going back to the 1999-2000 season. It will probably surprise nobody that the pix of Florent skating to The Prince of Egypt are amazingly cute? |

| I can't imagine Brian not going to this World, instead sending someone else. In doing this, it'll be like pushing him down when he's already in the water. |

| Still no Brian news, but Nathalie Pechalat and Fabian Bourzat are back in Lyon for a pre-Worlds practice camp. |

| The FFSG newsletter for March is now online, and features some brief interviews with several of the skaters (or so it's claimed - answers seem pretty forced at times). I'm not sure what to make of it, really. Judge for yourselves - it's in French, but copy-pasting into a translator works well enough. |
